Agostino Tassi’s atmospheric landscape depicts an eerie nocturnal gathering amidst fantastical ruins. Under a cloud-filled night sky, shadowy figures surround a fiery cauldron, their ritualistic poses suggesting witchcraft and sorcery. Tassi captures the unearthly mood with dramatic chiaroscuro lighting, the glowing fire casting sinister shadows across craggy rocks and crumbling architecture.
